The elastomeric sensor conforms to the surface topography by revealing detailed features, regardless of lighting or reflectivity, e.g. specularity or translucency. The surface detail is displayed on contact, giving instant visual feedback. A 3D depth map is then calculated from images of the surface, providing position, depth, and other derived surface measurements at a high resolution.

GelSight’s Handheld Elastomeric Imaging Sensor helps to tangibly increase the throughput of inspection in primary manufacturing and Maintenance Repair and Overhaul – MRO environments.
