~ Exploring the benefits of software when creating a first article inspection report ~
Businesses across a variety of sectors use spreadsheets for data entry, accounting and more. While they can be a valuable tool, if users do not input the information correctly, it can have costly consequences. For example, during the 2012 London Olympics, a staffer accidentally inserted 20,000 into a cell instead of 10,000, which led to 10,000 people buying non-existent seats that the committee had to upgrade at a loss. So, should we still be using spreadsheets in applications that require precision and accuracy, such as medical device development?
Here Jason McGlynn, commercial manager for Ireland at industrial metrology specialist The Sempre Group, explores how automating a first article inspection (FAI) report can benefit medical device developers.
